I get so many questions about how to cook spaghetti squash, so I thought I’d share my method for roasting it perfectly every time.
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400F.
2. Before you even cut the squash, give it a quick rinse and then microwave it for 2-3 minutes. This helps to soften it up for cutting as this can be quite a task if it is a larger one.
3. Cut the ends off and then cut the squash lengthwise. Scoop all the seeds out with a large spoon. If you like to use the whole squash, wash the seeds and save them for later to roast.
4. Drizzle with olive oil of choice. Top with salt, pepper, and garlic.
5. Turn the squash face down on a lined pan. Bake for 30 minutes. This allows for a more even bake throughout the squash. If you prefer a more al dente texture, bake for less time. But 30 minutes is usually perfect. Anything longer it tends to become more mushy.
6. Enjoy!
The squash can be used as a pasta substitute in any dish or create your own dish!
